This article addresses some of the key issues regarding body types. A careful reading of this material could make a big difference in how you think about your weight loss goals. First thing first. What’s your body type?
I don’t mean your blood type, your age or your gender
Which Body Type Do You Belong To?
What I meant is that everybody – no pun intended there – belongs to one of three body types below and by being aware of that, it makes a huge difference in your weight loss goals:
1) endomorph
2) ectomorph
3) mesomorph
The endomorph has a round body type, meaning he has a round head, round abdomen, rather short arms and legs but fat upper arms and thighs. Male endomorphs look stout, tough and strong. They can gain weight easily, like the mesomorphs.
The ectomorph is thin, with a narrow body and long and thin arms and legs. They usually have little body fat or muscle and do not gain weight easily. Perhaps, some women would desire to be ectomorphs as most female models have typically slender builds.
Desirable to most males, mesomorphs are strong and have an athletic build. They can develop and build muscle mass easily and can usually eat without too much fear, but are still prone to weight gain.
It’s time to look into your mirror and know what body type you have and realize that you can’t change it. There’s really no point struggling with what you can’t change just like no amount of jumping can change your height. Neither can we change the fact that we’re Caucasian, Chinese or Indian. Rather, just appreciate and be thankful of who you are and what body type you belong to.
Now that you know your body type, the question is how does it affect your weight loss goals?
If you’re an ectomorph and you base your weight loss goals as if you’re a mesormorph, you might be unpleasantly surprised by the results.
For instance, as you know that muscle mass burns calories more effectively than other tissues, it’s helps to achieve weight loss if you join a gym and start some weight training program. However, as you also know that it’s tougher for an ectomorph to build muscle mass easily, if he/she works very hard alongside a mesormorph, he/she will be very disappointed with his/her results.
Thus, once you realize what body type you’re given by the Higher Power, you’re in a better position to set realistic goals according to your body type. So, you simply have to adapt your workout to achieve your exercise and diet goals.
Last but not least, we do not belong to one body type; we are a combination of at least two. You have to identify your primary type. If a man in his forties is quite big, we may mistake him to be a mesomorph because he has put on weight over the years. You might be shocked to realize that he was a skinny and thin fellow in his younger days as he’s primarily an ectomorph.

There are several different types of diets that are available. Each one is a plan, or blueprint that you can use to achieve specific eating habits. The question is which diet is best for you?
The first thing to consider when looking into diets is your personal needs. Are you dieting just to take off extra pounds, or do you want to have a long term plan that will assure you meet all of your nutritional needs? In many ways, this is like asking yourself the analogy of “Do you want a job or a career?”

For example, the blood type diet suggests each blood type arose from a specific part of the world. Therefore, you can optimize your diet based on the foods your ancestors ate. Researching diets, foods, and nutrient requirements is critical to developing a good diet. Explanation Of The 4 Types Of Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral palsy affects approximately 800,000 children and adults in the United States.
CP is a chronic condition that affects body movements and muscle coordination. It is caused by damage to one or more specific areas of the brain, usually occurring during fetal development, or during infancy.
Cerebral palsy was considered a distinct condition in 1861. Dr. William John Little, published the first paper describing the neurological problems of children with spastic diplegia (also known as cerebral palsy). This is still sometimes called Little’s Disease.
Two children out of every thousand born in America have cerebral palsy. At least 5000 infants and toddlers and about 1,400 preschoolers are diagnosed with cerebral palsy each year.
There are 4 types of CP. This next set of tips will discuss these types, and their differences.
Spastic
Spastic cerebral palsy is characterized by stiff or permanently contracted muscles. 70-80 percent of people with CP have this type.
Athetoid
Athetoid cerebral palsy is characterized by uncontrolled, slow movements. 10-20 percent of people have this type of CP.
Ataxic
Ataxic CP is characterized by a lack of coordination and balance. This type of CP accounts for 10 percent of all cases of CP. Ataxic CP (or any kind of CP) is not degenerative.
Mixed
Mixed CP is when one person has two or more types of CP. The most common type of mixed CP is Athetoid/Spastic-diplegic or Athetoid/Spastic-hemiplegic.
Diagnosing children with CP at a young age is important. Here are some of the symptoms to look for in a newborn child:
- Lack of alertness
- abnormal cry
- Trembling arms and legs
- Problems sucking and swallowing
- Weak muscle tone
- Favoring one side of the body
- Abnormal reflexes
- Seizures
Abnormal muscle tone is very common in people with cerebral palsy. Even as newborns, their muscles may change from low tone to high tone. They can also go from floppy to very stiff.
If you’re concerned that your child may have CP, look for developmental delays such as:
-Rolling over
-Sitting up
-Crawling
-Talking
-Walking
Understand that it takes time to diagnose cerebral palsy, especially specifying the type of CP. If it’s for a child, his doctor will want to take time to do tests and examine him several times before making the diagnosis.
Age and Race
According to research, the following people have a higher chance of having a child with CP:
-A mother or a father under 20 years old
-A mother over 40 years old
-African-American ethnicity
Blood Type
There is a rare circumstance where the mom’s and child’s blood is incompatible. This is called Rh or ABO blood type incompatibility, and it puts you at risk of having a child with cerebral-palsy.
Micro-Organisms
In rare cases, your infant’s central nervous system can be attacked by micro-organisms. This will put him at high risk of developing cerebral palsy.
Doctor Error

Blood is a part of the body. Blood has different components sch as red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma. The red blood cells (RBC), platelets also called monocytes because it is belong to the “myeloid” group and other white blood cells belong to the “lymphoid” group. Lymphoid cells are affected. Disease progresses quickly. This is most common among children. Blood cancer or Leukemia is actually a group of diseases, each of which impede with the normal functioning of blood cells and progressively weaken the system. Leukemia is classified as either Acute or Chronic. Blood and urine samples may also be tested for various substances, called tumor markers, which may indicate cancer.
Causes
A weakened immune system – this may be a result of drugs that suppress the immune system (such as those used for organ transplants), high doses of radiation (such as in radiotherapy for another cancer), or diseases that affect the immune system (such as HIV).

Blood the communicating channel in our body
Blood is a fluid connective tissue circulating in the body. It consists of plasma and blood corpuscles. The fluid part is called the plasma and is straw-yellow in color. Since the plasma portion is liquid it is term and fluid connective tissue. The blood corpuscles i.e. the red blood corpuscles or (RBC); white blood corpuscles (WBC) and the blood platelets or thrombocytes are found floating in the plasma portion and transported along with the blood.
Blood is the liquid medium associated with the blood vascular system. It transports food, oxygen, hormones etc. through the blood vessels to various tissues of the body and collects carbon dioxide and other metabolic waste produced in the tissue cells and then supplies them to the specific sites of body. The plasma content of the blood is 55% and that of the blood corpuscles is 45%.
Blood provides the communicating channel between the different cells in the body. Blood conveys the antibodies to the site of injury or disease and horm0nes or the chemical messengers from the respective endocrine glands to the various target cells. The blood constitutes approximately 8% of the body weight i.e. around 5.6 liters in a 70 kg weight man.
Blood performs a variety of vital and important functions in the in the animal body and thus therefore described as the River of Life. The function of blood can be studied with respect to the differential constituents and resultant outcome of them.
1. Erythrocytes: these red blood corpuscles are responsible for carrying oxygen in combination with the hemoglobin as oxyhemoglobin from lungs to the tissues for oxidation of food to release energy for various, metabolic activities.
2. Leucocytes: the white blood corpuscles or leucocytes are responsible defense mechanism of the body.
3. blood platelets: the blood or the thrombocytes are associated with the blood clotting mechanism and
4. Plasma: the plasma portion of the blood is responsible for the transport of nutrition, carbon dioxide disposal, transport of excretory products, distribution of hormones, and vitamins, regulation of water balance, osmotic balance, protection against disease , regulating body temperature, blood clotting and lymph formation.
There are two types of blood vessels as arteries and the veins. Arteries that divided into the arterioles which are further divided into the blood capillaries carry oxygenated blood from the heart to the various parts of the body except the pulmonary arteries that carries deoxygenated blood. Veins are those blood vessels that carry blood from different parts of the body to the heart from oxygenation. Except pulmonary veins the veins carry impure blood from various organs to the heart.
The membranes of the human red blood cells contain a variety of agglutinogens. The most important agglutinogens are A and B agglutinogens which constitutes the ABO system of blood groups. According to ABO blood group system the individuals are divided into 4 major blood group types as type A,B, AB and O on the basis of the presence of agglutinogens in the red cells.

Blood Sugar and Diabetes
There are many different diets circulating in the media as well as medicine today. Diets that focus on reduced carbohydrate intake, diets that limit or reduce fat intake, low-caloric diets, combination diets, blood typing diets, genotype diets, and diabetic diets can all be very confusing.
The topic of this discussion is the glycemic index. The glycemic index was first developed by Dr. David Jenkins who was a professor of nutrition at the University of Toronto in Canada. The first glycemic index was developed in 1981 by Dr. Jenkins. The purposes of determining glycemic index of particular foods were to determine which foods were best for people with diabetes. In the early 80s, most dietary programs that focused on diabetics were based on systems of different carbohydrate exchanges. Each exchange or each portion of food one was able to consume contained the same about of carbohydrate. The exchange system assumed that all starchy foods produce the same effect on blood glucose levels. Even though some earlier studies had also proven this was not correct, it was during that time that the phrase “good carbs and bad carbs” was developed and as time went on, we started to understand there were simple carbohydrates and complex carbohydrates and as time continued to go on, we realized that they had different effects on blood sugar levels, so in reality all carbs were not the same.
Dr. Jenkins was one of the first researchers to challenge the use of these exchanges and the first to really study the effect foods have on blood sugar levels as well as blood insulin levels. Dr. Jenkins’ approach was very scientific in nature which for the time was very unusual especially when trying to ascertain the effects different foods had on blood sugar level. Dr. Jenkins and his fellow researchers tested a large number of common foods with some very surprising results. For example ice cream which is greatly loaded with sugar content had less effect on blood glucose than ordinary white bread did, so basically the testing of individual food groups revealed surprising results in terms of affecting blood glucose levels, so Dr. Jenkins was actually a pioneer in developing a new means of classifying different types of carbohydrates.
His classification is known as the glycemic index, so what exactly is the glycemic index? The glycemic index is a means of ranking different food groups based on their immediate affect on blood sugar level. The foods that primarily affect blood sugar level are the carbohydrates. Proteins and fats do have an effect on blood glucose levels but not to the same degree that carbohydrates do, so for this reason carbohydrates were the primarily studied classification of food groups. For the comparison to be equal, all foods are compared with the reference food such as pure glucose in equivalent carbohydrate amounts so the basic standard is sugar and sugar is given a value of 100. All foods tested and given a glycemic index number and are compared to sugar. It was believed at that time, if we were aware of the impact of food on glucose levels, we could, by manipulating the foods we intook affect blood glucose levels, thereby normalizing and stabilizing blood sugar levels and in effect controlling diabetes. As a practical example and again glucose having a value of 100, potato chips have a glycemic index of 57, jelly beans which contain a great deal of simple sugar has a glycemic index of 80, peanuts on the other hand have a glycemic index of 7, tortilla chips or corn chips have a glycemic index of 42.
Again, all these are relative to glucose being 100 on the glycemic scale. As with most new discoveries in medicine or in scientific research, when new ideas are presented there is a great deal of controversy surrounding the theories and only over time and pending proven scientific results has the glycemic index now been accepted as the standard for measuring carbohydrate and their influence on blood sugar levels.
Other researchers over the past several years that have been involved in research considering glycemic index, include Dr. Jennie Brand Miller from the University of Sydney as well as Dr. Thomas M.S. Oliver and his colleagues at the University of Toronto. Foods containing carbohydrates that break down quickly during digestion have the highest glycemic index values. In other words, the glucose or sugar in the blood stream increases rapidly. Foods that contain carbohydrates that break down slowly release glucose gradually into the blood stream. These foods have a low glycemic index value. High glycemic index foods cause very wild, erratic elevations in blood glucose level and consequently reducing levels of glucose quickly in the blood stream. On the other hand, low-glycemic index foods are the slow and steady, low GI foods produce a smooth blood glucose curve without wild fluctuations. High glycemic index foods are useful in the treatment of hypoglycemia of short periods of time. Oftentimes after athletic competition or extreme physical exertion, high glycemic index foods are indicated again short term to reduce recovery time in these individuals.
As I previously noted, the glycemic index of pure glucose is set at 100 and the other food is ranked on the scale from 0 to 100 according to the actual effect on blood glucose levels. There are several foods that actually have a glycemic index greater than 100. These would include white flour and jasmine rice as well as a few others. The reason for this is that these types of foods unlike glucose are held in the stomach longer for digestion consequently altering the glycemic index and the effect of the glucose on the blood stream.
In summary, the glycemic index is a measure of the immediate affect of a food on blood sugar level. Glucose is the standard with a glycemic index of 100. All foods are ranked on a scale of 0 to 100.

For people with O-type blood , the recommended diet is low-carbohydrate, low in diary products, and high in proteins from meat and fish. The specific foods that must be avoided by people with this blood type are oranges, avocados, and Brazil nuts.
People with A-type blood should not eat red meat. Fish, vegetables, and a low dairy intake are allowed. These people should also do only light exercises.
Blood type “B” people should eat plenty of meat, dairy food, fruits, vegetables, and some fish. People with this blood type should avoid bacon and chicken.
People with AB-type blood should combine the diets from A- and B-types blood .
A sample diet specific to A-type blood :
Breakfast should include grapefruit juice, coffee, herbal tea, water with lemon, or oatmeal with soy milk. At lunch apples, one slice of wheat bread, or a Greek salad are allowed. For lunch, a herbal tea is indicated. As a snack, people with A-type blood should eat two plums, green tea, or two rice cakes. For dinner, they may try frozen yogurt, broccoli, herbal tea, Tofu Pesto Lasagna, or red wine.
A sample meal plan for “B” type blood :
Breakfast should contain grape juice, rice bran cereal with banana, fluidizer cocktail, or skim milk. Several years ago, a very interesting new idea with regard to weight loss became all the rage: eating for your blood type. This concept answered the age-old question of why not all eating plans work for all people. That much seems undeniable – people are very different with regard to the types of food that works for them, as well as the type of exercise program. A weight loss regime that works for one person won’t necessarily work for someone else – that much we know.
Some experts started to link this to blood type. There are four main blood types, and according to this way of thinking, each type represents a body type. If you eat the food that is right for your type, you will lose weight effortlessly. Conversely, most weight problems are the result of eating the food that’s wrong for your type. As well, there are types of exercise that are suitable for some types and not for others.
Though mainstream science ridiculed this idea, thousands of people followed the eating plan for their blood type and many had excellent results. This is the theory: the different blood types evolved at different times in human history, and even nowadays people with those types have traits that are specific to humans at that stage of evolution. This may sound confusing, but it’s clearer with an example: According to this theory, ‘o’ type blood, because it’s the simplest type, evolved first. At that time in human history, people had not yet developed agriculture. They were primarily hunters, and ate meat and greens; they ate no wheat, and no dairy, because those foods developed later on with the advent of farming. Humans at that time in history also exercised vigorously.
So, if you have ‘o’ type blood, your body is similar to this early human physiology. If you eat a lot of carbohydrates and don’t exercise vigorously, you will have weight problems and other health problems, because you are not eating and exercising in the way that is right for your blood type and body type. To lose weight and be healthy, if have ‘o’ type blood, you have to eat plenty of red meat and vegetables, and very little wheat or dairy. You should also have a strenuous physical activity, like running or weight lifting, that you practice several times a week.
But if you are a type ‘a’ or ‘b’, for example, that advice would be all wrong for you. These types developed somewhat later, after agriculture was established, so these individuals can and should eat more fruits, vegetables, and grains. People with ‘ab’ type blood are lucky; their type evolved last, after humans had incorporated all types of food into their diet. So ‘ab’s can basically eat anything – within reason – and not gain weight.
Over the past six or seven years, many people have followed this plan and lost a lot of weight. There are a few problems with it, though. First of all, as mentioned before, there is no hard scientific evidence that shows that people with different blood types are physiologically different. It’s an appealing idea, but it can’t be proven as yet. Also, some of the blood type diets (particularly the diet for type ‘o’) are very restrictive. In fact, the type ‘o’ diet is rather like Atkins at its most restrictive, and some nutritionists feel that this might lead to problems with high cholesterol in the long run. On the other hand, proponents of the diet argue that type ‘o’ people are precisely those who can afford to eat a lot of meat without negatively affecting their cholesterol level. If someone with a different blood type ate in this way, it might be a problem, but not for “o’s”. And it is certainly true that some people develop or don’t develop cholesterol problems seemingly regardless to their dietary intake.
If the theory has no basis, though, how would we explain the weight loss that so many people have experienced? It may be simpler than you think, actually. Any one of the four blood type eating plans, if followed correctly, would have you eating healthier, more natural food. Some, like the ‘o’ diet, are also quite restrictive. It seems likely that these diets make you lose weight in and of themselves, regardless of what blood type you are!
